King Angelfish (Holacanthus passer)
This colorful fish is a member of the angelfish family. It makes its home in the Eastern Pacific from the Gulf of California to Peru, including the Galapagos Islands
The females will scope out a territory and protect it hoping to attract a male. This species of angelfish form monogamous pairs and will remain together for life.
They like to feed on sponges and other sessile invertebrates but will also graze on various types of planktons and algae.
