Bluering Angelfish (Pomacanthus annularis)
This fish makes his home from the east coast of Africa, throughout Indonesia and New Guinea to New Caledonia and north to southern Japan.
Adults prefer to inhabit coastal reefs and are often found in pairs inside caves, with their favorite foods being sponges and tunicates.
Juveniles settle in very shallow inshore habitats with short filamentous algae growth on rock or dead coral substrates. The juvenile will undergo a complete color transformation from the juvenile (left) to adult (right).
Being a fairly calm Angelfish, they are a favorite in the aquarium trade and can often be seen in Indo-Pacific displays.
