Las Vegas --

Pacific Creolefish (Paranthias colonus)
This beautiful fish makes its home in the Eastern Pacific, from the Gulf of California to Peru. It can typically be found in small groups above coral reefs, into which they will retreat at the first sign of danger.
The shortened snout allows this animal close-range binocular vision, which aids in feeding on small planktonic animals picked individually from the water.
Ours can be seen at all hours of the day, swimming quickly around the perimeter of our aquarium.
